Heidi Chien has been responsible for Human Resources for the Humboldt State University Center since 1979. Heidi is a member of the Northcoast Employee Advisory Council (NEAC), a member of the Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) HR Committee, a current AOUIT Board member since January of 1999, and is also the Associate Executive Director in Humboldt State University Center. Heidi has over 28 years of experience in all functional areas of human resource management and received numerous trainings specialized for the Auxiliaries of California State University.

Nancy Green

Nancy Green is the Director of Human Resources for the 49er Shops, Inc. at California State University, Long Beach. The 49er Shops is an Auxiliary Organization on Campus operating the University Bookstore, Dining Services, and ID Card Services. Nancy began her career with the Shops in 1977 working with the Nutrition Program for Senior citizens. In 1985 Nancy became the first Human Resources Director for the Shops and has dedicated herself to developing personnel policies, regulations, and procedures for all staff members. Total staff for the Shops is currently 500 including full time staff and part time student staff. Providing an informative and supportive experience for all employees is a critical role for Nancy’s department and she and her staff work tirelessly to support all of the 49er Shops staff members.
Nancy loves working on the college campus and is very involved in many campus organizations including Staff Council. She has been a trustee for the AOUIT (Auxiliary Organizations Unemployment Insurance Trust) since 1990. She has held the position of Treasurer during most of those years. Nancy graduated from the University of California, Riverside as a Psychology major and although she wasn’t sure where her career would take her but she knew she wanted to work with a varied group of people.
She got her wish, because the CSULB campus with over 40,000 students, faculty and staff is truly a diverse atmosphere. Nancy loves the drama and wide-ranging responsibilities of human resources and has developed many lasting friendships over the years at CSULB.
Nancy is a California native and has lived in Long Beach Since 1963. Nancy has two children and loves to spend time in her garden reading a good book.

William Nelson

Bill Nelson is a Business Consultant who has responsibility for the management and accounting functions of the Auxiliary Organizations Unemployment Insurance Trust (AOUIT). In 1981, he began his affiliation with the Trust as one of the original Board Members and began working for the AOUIT as Trust Administrator in 1988. He performs all of the business aspects of the Trust, including preparation of the safe level/experience rating schedule. Also he performs other duties assigned by the Board, (i.e. prepare and present suggested policies to the Board and schedule board meetings). Bill is also treasurer of a couple of local educational and social organizations, and is active in local church and community activities.
Prior to his working for the Trust, he was Executive Director of the CSU East Bay Foundation; Residence Halls Administrator at University of California, Santa Barbara; Housing Director at CSU Long Beach; and Assistant Manager of a Long Beach restaurant. He is a retired member of NACAS (The National Association of College Auxiliary Services) where he assisted with the annual conference for many years and one year was host committee chair. He is retired from a number of education related organizations where he was active in the governance.
Bill graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. degree in business & public service with an emphasis in Hotel, Restaurant, and an Institutional Management. He obtained a Registered Dietitian Certificate and was active in the ADA (American Dietetics Association) for many years.
